Amy Hoyt
Bradley Method® childbirth instructor/doula
whollymama@gmail.com
My name is Amy Hoyt.
I live in central Kitsap County with my wonderfully supportive husband and three energetic children. I am both a Bradley Method® childbirth instructor and professional labor support person/doula.
About the Bradley Method®…
I teach the Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth® because I believe it works! Two of my births have been Bradley® births, and the difference between those two and my first, non-Bradley® birth is amazing. I love how Bradley® classes incorporate the entire family into the birth experience.
In my classes, I teach the importance of growing healthy babies by eating good foods and avoiding harmful substances. I teach how important a supportive coach is to the mother by teaching coaches the normal process of labor, and how to help their laboring partners make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary pain. I teach a variety of relaxation techniques, and take time in my classes to make sure each couple can work together to achieve deep relaxation through labor. I teach the importance of being a good consumer – taking responsibility for your birth and making decisions based on all the information, not just on what you may initially be told.

About Wholly Mama Doula Services…
I believe that supporting a woman in labor requires supporting more than just the physical laboring body. A woman in labor needs her physical, emotional and informational needs taken care of, and that’s what I strive to do when I attend births.
New moms benefit in numerous ways when attended in birth by an experienced support person. Labors become shorter, moms are less likely to ask for pain medication, cesarean sections are reduced, medical interventions are kept to a minimum, moms experience more joy in their birth experience, moms and babies bond better, moms have an easier time with starting breastfeeding, and are less likely to experience post-partum depression.*
Having a baby is a life-changing experience; having someone there to support you along the way can make that experience even better!
